From Kea to the… “Rolling Stones” experience Apart from our personal passion and many of our good friends that contributed to the result, the main element are the people, our guests, you, The Aigis “Family””.
We will never forget this lovely couple of Americans who have reserved one of our suites for a week back in May 2017. They had recommendations from another guest of ours who have stayed in the hotel a couple of years ago. Dale and Simone seemed to spend a nice time in Kea on their first day, yet the weather had other “plans” for them. We remember it was this week of May that the island was diverged for 4 days, no boat has come or left the island. This weather would not allow you to have a lot of choices on how to spend the day with different activities; but we wanted to make the best out of their stay as we consider them our guests and as Aigis “family”, and we want to share with each one of them “original” experiences of a local in Kea Island. And that’s what we did. We started by exploring the hinterland of Kea, we visited the Episkopi farmhouse, we picked cherries, cooked Greek traditional recipes and we initiated into the traditions, and throughout these activities we get the change to know each other and create a bond. The big surprise came on the last days of their stay when Takis was Djing as always and Dale asked him if he could play also the “start me up” of Rolling Stones, and that was the time he revealed that he is the project manager of Rolling Stones along with other famous bands such as Guns-n-Roses. That was the beginning of an unexpected life-changing experience which we will never forget. In October of the same year, they invited us at the Rolling Stones concert in Paris. The feeling indescribable. We have grown up with their songs, and we had the privilege to go backstage, enjoy their rehearsal, and sit in the VIP seats along with the other 74 members of their families. Moments we could never imagined, even in our wildest dreams.
All this unforgettable experience that we had the chance to live was summarized in a single phrase of Dale: “As you opened your home and make us a part of your family, so we open ours”. A phrase which concludes that authentic hospitality does not “pays back”, yet it always rewards you!!
