Experiential tourism & visionary hospitality in Syros Island, “the Lady of the Cyclades”

“Such a blessing, such beauty in such abundance, should be shared far and wide; to the ends of the earth!” and so it was done!

Elefthia Syros…an idea born from my family’s love for Syros or Syra “the Siren”, as people used to call the island.

In our tale, there is a mother, a mother to all of us, Eleftheria, three godmothers Aggeliki, Dimitra and Lydia and a guardian angel, Giorgos, our protector, our cornerstone.

Fate brought us to the island many years ago and it didn’t take long to be mesmerised by its aura, enchanted by the tradition, the culture, the beauty.

Time passed and my memories from this blessed land were filled with light, colours, songs and sparkling blue seas.

Being an educator and an avid traveler, I got to know our island and its history intimately. Land and sea paths, tastes, sounds, sights, customs and traditions, such wealth amassed on a tiny dot in the Aegean!

All this, along with the allure of meeting new people, either from our lands or from every corner of the earth, led me to dedicate myself to the realisation of the “Idea”.

It took passion, imagination, hard work and love to create Elefthia Syros on the serene, sheltered beach of Ambela.

The etymology of the name Elefthia can be traced to the verb…which means “to come, to bring”. Elefthia Syros with its stunning views, the beauty of the surrounding nature and the warmth of its people, comes to bring and offer a seamless hospitality experience.

My motto has always been that, if I go alone I might go faster but if I go with friends I will definitely go farther! And since friendship is most of all about sharing, I shared our idea with friends who believed in it, embraced it, stood by us and supported us wholeheartedly.

Lisa, Olympia, Sofia, Antonis, Fillipos, Ioanna, Melina, Eleni, each of them and all of them, made their mark and helped this dream come true.

With patience and grit, and a broad, bright smile on our face, we joined forces and…

…it’s all summer in these arms!
